St Matthew’s Dorchester

Matthew, a follower of Jesus Christ – is the Patron Saint of our parish and also of accountants, bankers, bookkeepers, financial and tax professionals.  We celebrate his feast day every year on September 21.

We encourage you to browse around and to learn more in the hope that you will familiarize yourself with the people who call St Matthew’s their spiritual home. United in one faith, we labor to live the Gospel and to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to people of every walk of life. Located at 33 Stanton Street [map], our schedule of Liturgy is:

Matthew, one of the twelve Apostles, is the author of the first Gospel. This has been the constant tradition of the Church and is confirmed by the Gospel itself. He was the son of Alpheus and was called to be an Apostle while sitting in the tax collectors place at Capernaum. Before his conversion he was a publican, i.e., a tax collector by profession. He is to be identified with the “Levi” of Mark and Luke. He is the Patron Saint of our parish: Saint Matthew’s Dorchester, a Roman Catholic Church of the Archdiocese of Boston, Massachusetts.
