Kujenga Summer Retreat Showcase

In gratitude and appreciation to the parents who send their children to the 2014 Kujenga Summer Retreat and to parishioners who contributed with their financial support and prayers to the annual retreat, St. Angela’s hosted in September her first Kujenga-Viongozi Retreat Showcase on Saturday 6 September to Sunday 7 September 2014 at St. Angela’s church in Mattapan. Without their contribution and support, our parishes youths participation may not have been possible. Confirmation Classes start soon!

From Mrs Beaubrun (Parish Confirmation Program Coordinator): “Summer is almost over, and everyone is getting ready to go back to school.  October is fast approaching for the 1st day of Religious Education program. If you are entering 9th grade (high school) you are ready for the Confirmation program. Students must be baptized and should have received First Communion. Confirmation is a two-year program that typically takes place in 9th and 10th grade.  However the preparation program is open to all high school students who have not yet been confirmed. Parish Religious Education, First Communion & Confirmation Registration for 2014-2015

Registration is still ongoing for Parish Religious Education for First Communion & for Confirmation. Classes begin in September 2014. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION & CONFIRMATION PROGRAM • Opening schedule is for Sunday, September 28, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. for First Communion Program, and at 12:30 p.m. for the Confirmation Program at the Pope John Paul Mattapan campus on Babson Street, Mattapan. • Registration for all religious education students from Kindergarten to 8th grade and registration for all incoming 9th and 10th grade students for the Confirmation program are ongoing.  Confirmation students should be baptized and had received their First Communion.  An interview time for all Confirmation students’ parents will be sent out once your...

Kujenga Youth Leadership Retreat of 2014 thank you and updates! On behalf of both St. Angela’s and St. Matthew’s parishes, we would like to thank all the parents who sent their children to the Kujenga-Viongozi Youth Retreat of 2014.  We would like to express our gratitude to all the donors and especially Father Joy who sponsored our Parish Youths and Young Adults Kujenga Leadership retreat this year.  The Retreat was awesome! Seven-Day Jericho Prayers

The purpose of the Seven-Day Jericho Prayers is to pray for or against something and ask God to intercede, protect, or change something.   It is a test of faith, trust in God to move, and a test of obedience. These prayers – which may also take the form of marches around a city, church building, or house, etc … –  are patterned after the march on Jericho by Joshua as instructed by the Lord. We gladly thank Charismatic Prayer Group ‘Divine Mercy‘  (Divine Miséricorde) who brings us another Seven-Day Jericho Prayers this year again. Originally posted on 21 August 2012 – updated. << I’ve been a parent for a long time now, and I have heard many, many parents — in real life, in print, and on television — talk about their ultimate hopes for their children:  “I just want my child to be happy.” “I want my child to be successful.” “I want my child to have a good education, a good job and good relationships.” I never hear:  “I want my child to be virtuous.” Virtuous?
