I wish you a blessed Easter Season, thank and welcome you to St. Matthew’s Dorchester & St. Angela’s Mattapan parish family websites.
Both parishes form together an energetic multi-ethnic Catholic faith community where all are welcome to join us for numerous weekday and Sunday Masses, liturgical, social and cultural parish events in English, and Haitian Creole French. As the pastor of both parishes, I look forward to meeting you in person at one of our daily or weekend Eucharistic celebrations, or at other parish activities.
During LENT, we observe fasting and abstinence. Confessions hearings and reconciliation are available after weekday Masses and on Wednesdays from 6:30PM until 8PM † Stations of the Cross are on Thursdays at 7PM in English and on Fridays at 7PM in Haitian French and Creole.
Located in southern Boston, St. Angela’s and St. Matthew’s are two adjacent multicultural parishes of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston, Mass., USA. The Lord has blessed both parishes abundantly throughout these years. They are under my pastorship for many years. I am Fr. Joy.

Both parishes combined have more than a dozen (12+) weekly Masses from Mondays to Saturdays; more than half a dozen (6+) Sundays’ Masses; numerous prayers and devotions services – as well as cultural and civic activities – in English, Haitian Creole/French. Furthermore, both parishes are blessed with numerous vibrant pastoral and liturgical ministries that give our parishioners opportunities to nourish their faith beyond our Sunday Masses. Check out our parish calendar for additional information and parish events in English, and Haitian Creole/French.
The sacrifices of those in the past who worked very hard must not be overlooked. The sacrifices of the pastors before me and the priests, religious sisters who so generously gave their time and talents; the sacrifices of parents and families who gave generously of their time, energy, and treasures; the sacrifices of single lay persons who often dedicated themselves to their parish and their church; their sacrifices must not be forgotten. To you all we owe our deepest gratitude.
To you all today who continue today and everyday this legacy of giving yourselves to your parish and your church, we owe our deepest gratitude.
Through the parish website you will find news, events, photos, audio podcast and videos of both parishes’ active life and links to each parish individual web pages.
